As 2015 rolls into high gear, it’s time to bring in the new year with fellow Mountaineers at the WV NCAC’s annual NEW MountainYEAR celebration, scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, at the Rhodeside Grill in Arlington. The annual event recognizes the accomplishments of DC-area WVU graduates with four special awards, includes a wide variety of raffle prizes, and features fantastic food, fun, and Mountaineer fellowship.
The event kicks off at 5:30 pm, and runs through the WV-Oklahoma basketball game, which will be featured on Rhodeside’s big screens and is set to tip-off at 8:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow Mountaineer alums in the DC area, enjoy delicious food and drink specials, and learn more about the WV NCAC and how you can become involved with our many activities.
Also on hand will be coaches of several of the WVU teams in the Capital Area Network, a group that organizes competition for college alumni teams in numerous sports throughout the year here in the DC area. Additionally, in the spirit of traditional West Virginia generosity, we ask that you consider bringing food items to donate to the DC Food Bank. Any attendee doing so will receive a free ticket to the raffle, which includes admission to the upcoming annual Crab Feast (we’re also announcing the date for this year’s event that night!), autographed WVU items, and gift certificates.
Make plans to join the WV NCAC Board members and fellow Mountaineers at the NEW MountainYEAR 2015 celebration, and bring WVU friends.
