Member Spotlight on: Patti Pettite
Name: Patti Petitte (pronounced like the size “petite”)
Hometown: Turnersville, N.J.
Major: B.S. in Journalism (Broadcast emphasis)
Minor: Sports Management
Graduated: 1998
Bio: Patti just moved to Arlington, Virginia after she accepted a job at NBC 4 Washington (WRC) in Northwest D.C. as a Content Producer. She most recently won two Mid-Atlantic regional Emmy awards in Philadelphia for her previous position at Delawareonline.com, the Website for a Gannett Newspaper. Patti was awarded for her work as an Anchor and Reporter in Advanced Media as well as her contributions in Continuing Coverage of Joe Biden in Advanced Media. While working in Delaware, Patti moderated “Smart Talk”, a women’s lecture series featuring familiar faces such as Brooke Shields,
Madeleine Albright, Kim Phuc, Lauren Bacall and she even had dinner with Rita Moreno.
While working in Delaware, Patti worked to help recruit future Mountaineers through the local alumni chapter.
Following Patti’s graduation from WVU, she served as a reporter at WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, West Virginia and served as a reporter at WSET-TV in Lynchburg, Virginia.
During her time at WVU, Patti worked at U92 reporting both news and sports over the radio waves. She also worked for ESPN and CBS sports during their coverage of WVU home football and basketball games.
What Patti liked most about Morgantown – although the school is large – she connected with a group of friends she kept throughout her time there – and longer. It’s hard to stay in touch with everyone, but she keeps up with those she can and managed to go to some weddings, watch friends marry each other and develop families. Patti’s schedule does not permit her to travel back to WVU often, but her heart and spirit shouts from the city she resides in.
“I am forever, a Mountaineer!”
